Culinary Travels

Not many shows enjoy the kind of production run Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert has had. With the release of its tenth season of episodes, the “original” culinary travel show has now brought viewers around the world in nearly 300-half hour episodes!
Eckert continues to seek out the indigenous and delicious. ”I’ve taken viewers to a cockle farm in Phuket, Thailand, the world’s only conch farm in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean, and this year, to a sake brewery and a yellowtail farm in Ehime, Japan.,” says Eckert. “I’ve traveled up the side of a volcano to pick strawberries, and out on the water to troll for salmon, search the nets for prized perch, and sample mussels fresh from the waters of New Zealand. I’ve watched cheese makers continue a thousand year tradition in an alpine dairy over an open fire in Gruyere, Switzerland, and toured and tasted in a Belgium brewery dating back hundreds of years,” says Eckert. “And, the best part is viewers get to come along for the ride.”
This year’s programs take viewers on tantalizing Epicurean journeys to Japan, Chile, Mexico, Scotland, Las Vegas, Napa Valley, Chicago, and beyond! Travel fans will love the varied and historic destinations from Puerto Vallarta to Hong Kong. Foodies will enjoy the local fare: a seafood market in Japan, gourmet cuisine in the Napa Valley, and a culinary festival to match all culinary festivals in Chicago. And, for wine lovers, who can quarrel with 11 different Chilean wineries in seven separate wine regions!
“There have been imitators, but no duplicators,” says the Emmy Award winning Eckert. “Culinary Travels combines my 30 years of television journalism experience with life’s passion for food, wine, spirits, and travel,” Eckert continues. “My show isn’t about eating the strangest things I can find or traveling to the farthest flung places on the planet. It about real people and real destinations, and while I thoroughly enjoy all the experiences, I always remember the stories are about the people who live and work where I visit, not me.” Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert-it’s not to be missed.
