Awake 'n Bake

Today, people around the world are becoming more aware of the relationship between food, diet and health. For years they have been hearing statements from former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop that “70 percent of all Americans are dying from diseases that are directly tied to their eating habits.” And from the American Dietary Association that “… cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, and gastrointestinal problems can all develop as direct results of our food choices. Now, the public knows: saturated fat, cholesterol, and high-calorie foods are literally killing us.”
It is evident that a healthier body, mind and emotions are directly correlated to the quality of our diet. Numerous research studies and reviews conclude that eating 5 or more servings of colorful fruits and vegetables a day is part of an important plan for healthier living. That’s because deeply hued fruits and vegetables provide the body with a wide range of of vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals your body needs to maintain good health. Increased energy levels, longevity, protecting against the effects of aging, reduced risk of stroke, reduced risk of cancer, heart disease and osteoporosis, are a few of the many important benefits of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
In our journey, Awake 'n Bake unveils the healing of Ayurveda, a 6,000 year old system of health care. We delve into our health with respect to our heart, digestion, weight, joints, male & female hormones, eyes & hair, ear, nose & throat, skin, diabetes, depression & more which deal with children and pregnancy. Furthermore, we uncover Traditional Balinese herbal healing, Austraiian Aborigine Wellness, Yoga & Breath, food remedies from Sweden and more. On the horizon, we'll unveil healing realms of the Native American Indian, South American indigenous people, Chinese healing and African native remedies.
Although the public’s awareness is increasing that proper nutrition is crucial for sustaining good health, there are few opportunities to learn about the positive choices people can make about their food. Traveling the world, seeking consummate chefs and health professionals, Awake ‘n Bake explores a wide variety of foods. Viewers are entertained in the subtle humor of the show while learning the fine art of healthy conscious cooking, eating, body care and lifestyle.. Combining the elements of traditional cooking programs with the scope of National Geographic, Awake ‘n Bake takes a look at new and old lifestyles that offer healthy ways to compliment our diets and impact our emotional well being.
